Introduction

This privacy policy explains how the Even Mental Health mobile application (”Even Mind” or the “App”) processes your personal information.

How is my data stored?

Your data is stored only locally on your device and optionally synced to your private iCloud drive.

Apple iCloud

Users can optionally backup their data using iCloud (enabled by default). Backups are stored in a user’s private iCloud Drive space and count against their iCloud quota. Apple secures your information by encrypting it when it’s in transit, storing it in iCloud in an encrypted format, and using secure tokens for authentication. This means that only you can access your information, and only on devices where you’re signed into iCloud. You can find out more about iCloud security and privacy at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202303

Analytics

The App may collect some anonymized usage data to help us improve the App. Examples include, but are not limited to, app launches, in-app purchases, screen visits, session durations, or other information about how users interact with the App. These data are fully anonymized and aggregated and thus not linked to any particular user.

These analytics do NOT collect any user-generated content, such as your recordings or anything you type within the app.

You can opt-out of these analytics at any time by disabling the “Share usage data” setting in the App’s settings.

AI Features

Even Mind offers optional features that use artificial intelligence to provide insights about your data. If you choose to use an AI-powered feature, the information necessary to provide that feature may be sent to OpenAI, our third-party AI service provider.

Depending on the feature you use, this information may include information you provide to Even Mind, such as mood and energy entries, sleep information, journal entries or notes, and other information relevant to generating the requested insight.

We send this information to OpenAI solely to process your request and provide the AI-powered feature. We do not use your information to train or improve our own artificial intelligence models.

OpenAI processes information submitted through its API under its applicable API data-use policies. OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train or improve its models by default. OpenAI may retain certain information for purposes such as abuse monitoring and, depending on the API features used, may temporarily retain information to provide the requested service. For more information, please see OpenAI's privacy and data-use policies.

AI features are optional. If you do not use an AI-powered feature, your information is not sent to OpenAI for that feature.

Because AI-generated insights may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate, they are provided for informational purposes only and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Third-party tools

We use certain third-party service providers to operate and improve Even Mind. These providers may process information on our behalf and only for purposes related to providing their services.
